Question & answer
The battery light just went on. What should I do?
First off, the battery light doesn’t mean there’s any immediate danger, so don’t panic. Pull over once it’s safe to do so, and assess the possible causes. Have you left your headlights or radio on for too long without running the engine? Is it cold out? Has it been a long time since you started your car? Don’t worry, the battery might simply be drained. All you need to do is drive for a few kilometres and let the motor run to recharge it.
However, if this isn’t the case, a fuse may have blown or there may be excessive corrosion on the battery terminals.
In these cases, we recommend that you visit your local Auto Value Certified Service Centers as soon as possible. Otherwise, you may not be able to start your car when you need it most. So, what are you waiting for?
